《炎黄风情》是鲍元恺在1991年创作完成,并于同年首演的一部由24首管弦乐曲组成的大型组曲。这部组曲以中国六个省流传久远、脍炙人口的民歌为主题,组成了色彩绚丽的音乐画卷。作品先后在各大洲40多个国家和地区演出,得到了国内外听众的高度评价。
在《炎黄风情》创作过程中,作曲家约画家李志国、李志强兄弟为这些乐曲创作了24幅充满中国民间风韵的重彩工笔画,在《炎黄风情》管弦乐首演时首次展览。随着《炎黄风情》管弦乐在各地演出,这24幅画作先后在中国内地、香港和台湾展出,同样得到了各地观众的高度评价。
2006年12月,在我社出版的《炎黄风情》管弦乐总谱首发式暨《炎黄风情》首演15周年音乐会上,德国钢琴家亚历山大·碧乐岛(Alexander Bildau)演奏了根据《炎黄风情》管弦乐曲其中4首改编的钢琴曲,反响很好。我社遂约作曲家鲍元恺将《炎黄风情》24首管弦乐曲全部改编为钢琴曲。嗣后,由鲍元恺教授的研究生、作曲家朱培宾执笔,于2007年底完成了改编工作。管弦乐曲中部分不适合钢琴演奏的地方,由原作者鲍元恺进行了修订。
Chinese Sights and Sounds is an orchestral suite composed by Professor Bao YuanKai and premiered in 1991. It was based on widely circulated folk tunes from 6 provinces of China. This colorful suite has since been performed in over 40 countries in Asia, Europe, America, Australia and Africa, receiving high acclaims from international audience.
During the composition of the suite, Professor Bao invited Painter brothers Li Zhiguo and Li Zhiqiang to create 24 paintings which were exhibited at the premiere of the suite. These paintings have also been exhibited in many provinces of China, including Hong Kong and Taiwan when the suite was performed and was also very popular with the audience.
In December 2006, we published the orchestral score of Chinese Sights and Sounds and held a special commemorative concert for the 15th anniversary of the premiere of this suite. German Pianist Alexander Bildau played a selection of 4 pieces adapted from the suite on the piano, And It was given much attention and praises. So we invited Professor Bao to adapt the entire suite for piano. It was completed in end 2007 by Professor Bao’s student Zhu Peibin. Segments of the suite that was not suitable for the solo piano was revised by the original composer.
